Uncertain. Challenging. Difficult. Trying. Uncharted.
These are all words we have heard in advertisements used to describe our current situation. "In these difficult times" should be the understatement of the decade…
We all know we're living in unprecedented times, dealing with challenges we've not had to face before, and no one can truly say if or when things will ever get back to what we considered to be "normal." This will result in uncertainty when it comes to the next wave of challenges we will be faced with:
- Schools and universities, having made the decision to keep facilities closed, will have to close out this academic year.
- Schools and universities one-day reopening buildings in some capacity and starting to recover to a more accustomed teaching and learning environment.
- Previously closed businesses re-opening and operating in a decreased capacity for the time being.
- Essential businesses continuing to monitor and manage the health and well-being of their staff and the cleanliness of their facilities.
Many of our customers have shared with us some specific issues organizations will have to address during these uncertain times:
- Assessing the health of staff and community to minimize the risk of infection and spread of disease or monitor the predicted second wave.
- Facility sanitation, cleaning, and ongoing maintenance.
- Logistics management – including the inventory of personal protection equipment (PPE) or device management for distance learning and remote work.
- Evaluating the mental wellness of students or staff in their remote environments and dealing with potential risks in a virtual setting.
In order to help our constituents, CrisisGo has taken rapid steps to help address some of the unprecedented challenges this pandemic has posed.
- We've produced a series of free webinars to share valuable information from subject matter experts to help inform your organization's response and recovery plans.
- We launched a complementary microsite filled with valuable information and helpful resources specific to the impacts of the pandemic and unique challenges we are facing today.
- We developed a crowdsourcing project to collect – and share – best practices from school district leaders around the country on how to address the unique challenges COVID-19 has posed.
- We developed an easy-to-deploy intelligent survey platform to help gather local health logistics and safety data in real-time – this tool can help leaders make more informed decisions with actionable data. The platform also provides logistics management and facility audit reports for some of the daunting projects ahead – like ensuring buildings are clean and safe to reopen and remain that way or taking inventory of vital personal protection equipment throughout the district and community.
- We provide a technology-based threat assessment platform that collects anonymous tips of at-risk or threatening behavior and opens cases that can be collaboratively worked by an organization’s threat assessment team, even while practicing social distancing guidelines. Schools can also support students struggling with sheltering in place and feelings of isolation in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. While employers can provide anonymous ways for employees to report issues and potential threats emerging from working from home, including domestic violence or substance abuse.
CrisisGo has always been committed to working with organizations to improve safety and security. But today's workplaces and learning environments require more. Today people need to be confident in their surroundings. This means guaranteeing both safety and healthiness of your facilities, providing a trusted environment for all. Having digital tools like an intelligent survey and threat assessment platform can be vital pieces to your solution.
Our current situation has reinforced that we should expect the unexpected – whether it is a different pandemic, the resurgence of COVID-19, or other events such as natural or man-made disasters that can cause sudden disruptions to standard operations. We are reminded we need to be prepared, have continuity of operations plans in place, and explore new ways to solve unprecedented (or uncertain/difficult/trying/uncharted) challenges.
